With a heavy dose of commercial blues and RnB thrown in, there are influences of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Lady Wray and Alicia Keys evident in her writing and performance. Whether she's out acoustically or with her full band, Amba delivers a huge, gritty, unadulterated soul show and packs a big punch with her live vocals. Her songs are real stories about passion, love, heartbreak and honest feelings… Some will even move you to tears.

About Amba...

Amba is a firm fixture on the live music scene, be it fronting classic soul show band 'The Soul Session', out performing her own music with her band or providing backing vocals for legends such as Boy George and Eva Cassidy. Since the moment she left school she has played thousands of gigs, provided vocals for past and present superstars, appeared on over 200,000 playlists worldwide with her covers projects 'Blame Jones' and 'Franklyn Jay', (who can be heard on TV shows such as Love Island, Greatest Dancer, Strictly Come Dancing spin off 'It takes two') She has even enjoyed recognition for her own music by BBC introducing and radio stations worldwide as well as being a regularly featured vocalist with British soul/blues vocalist Jo Harman and Stefan Redtenbachers 'Funkestra'.

Amba was asked to join Stefan and award winning international artist Rumer (along with Jo Harman and Mim Grey) for two sell out shows at Ronnie Scotts (Spring of 2024) and was subsequently invited back just two weeks later to guest vocal with the legendary Ronnie Scotts house band 'The Soul Family' MD'd by Natalie Williams.

Amba was also a featured singer on BBC1's 'I can see your voice' season one 2021 and the winner of ITV's 'This is is moment' back in 2001, scooping the prize with over 300,000 live public votes.

This year Amba has enjoyed sell out shows at The Guildhall Portsmouth, appearances at Isle of Wight Festival, Victorious Festival and just this week Amba joined U.S superstar MD (Earth, Wind and Fire, Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Ray Charles) Mo Pleasure as part of his UK tour.

 

Amba was also nominated for 'Emerging Act of the Year' by the UK Blues Federation and early 2025 see's Amba head to the Winter Gardens, Blackpool as part of the Introducing Stage at The Rock, Rhythm and Blues Festival as well as several other UK festivals with Solid Entertainments.
